About Me
I’m Courtney- the teacher behind unchartedED. I’m so glad you’re here and going on this journey with me.
I graduated with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. I started teaching by achieving an alternative certificate. I have a Master’s in Education, Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision.
I’m currently a 7th grade geography teacher in Oklahoma and my class focuses on the Eastern Hemisphere of the world. I also teach Adult ESL at the local community college. It’s my 5th year in my current position as a geography teacher. Prior to this, I taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grade English for a year. Social Studies and Adult ESL have my heart, though.
My favorite parts of teaching include creating unique materials to engage students and designing classroom items that are visually appealing. I enjoy seeing students’ “lightbulb” moments and love seeing that growth in a data report.
Here’s the deal: this is still all new to me years later, but I love it and I’m having so much fun. I sure hope you stick around for the journey.
